Family memberships are $25.00/year, and Business level memberships begin at $50.00/year. Benefits include discounts at our Gift Shop, newsletters, and invitations to our programs and events.  Mata Ortiz Pottery is back by popular demand. The pottery comes from the village of Mata Ortiz in Mexico. Many years ago, along the Palanganas River near the ancient ruins of Paquime, a local vaquero and self taught potter named Juan Quezada founded a native art movement inspired by traditions that died out around the time of the Spanish conquest. Juan taught himself and eventually mastered the ancient craft. Then he taught his own extended family members and any neighbor that cared to learn. Today, most members of his village make pottery. Juan has pieces in the Smithsonian and during this exhibit you will see work from his family. All pieces are for purchase. The exhibit will be displayed from June 2 - 27.
