Calling All High School Artists!
   Date: December 22, 2006
   Location: Park State Bank & Trust
   Cost: No Charge
Spread to word to HS artists you know! The bank is offering a scholarship auction to benefit their education after high school. The auction will take place in February (details available at the bank or in the chamber office)The deadline to turn in art for a juried exhibit is December 22. The art entered into the exhibit automatically gives the artist a $100 educational IRA. If the student chooses, their art a will be auctioned at a 'Sotheby's Style' auction. The proceeds are added to their IRA.

Business After Hours - The Loan Center

Kick off the season of giving with a Harvest of Generosity. Our November Business After Hours will feature a Silent Auction to benefit Help the Needy in Woodland Park. They are also accepting canned or non-perishable items for the Community Cupboard.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing
   Date: 11/24/- 12/24
   Location: City Market
From Friday, November 24 through Christmas Eve, the Pikes Peak Rotary Club will be bell ringing at City Market for the Salvation Army. This marks our 15th consecutive year. We are in need of additional volunteers to help fill out our schedule. Please help us in our mission to serve others. All money collected in Teller County stays in Teller County.

Local History Buffs launch Tours
   Date: December 10, 2006
   Time: 1 - 3 pm
   Location: History Park, corner of Laurel St. & Henrietta Ave
Join local history buffs and historians in a tour through History Park, the museums of the Ute Pass Historical Society. Located next to the Woodland Park Library on Laurel Steet (at the corner of Henrietta Avenue) our museum cabins offer a glimpse of life in the Ute Pass/Teller County of days past. Docents will regail you with tall tales as well as history tidbits, as you tour our Midland Railway, Pioneer, and Early Communities exhibits. We invite you to bring family, friends, and history buffs of all ages. Parking available behind the Ute Pass Cultural Center or the adjacent Commuter Lot. FREE admission/donations gratefully accepted. We encourage reservations, but will be happy to tour with

Feathers to Fur: Preserving the Balance of Nature

   Location: 4255 Sinton Rd Colorado Springs rear entrance

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season!

Spend a fun-filled evening with Indigo Mountain Nature Center and Ellicott Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and explore the critical impact wildlife has on the ecosystem and our quality of life. Learn the importance of wildlife from bunnies to bears! Staff from each organization will be on hand to share information on the “wild” work they do in the Pikes Peak area, and provide information and resources on wildlife questions. Make a birdfeeder to take home and enjoy some holiday treats. You will have the opportunity to meet our Educational Ambassadors (live critters) too!
