CATALYST • CONVENER • CHAMPION
Welcome
This week has been heavy on our hearts. On September 11, our community gathered at Lions Park, shoulder to shoulder, remembering a day that forever changed our nation. We honored the innocent lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless men and women who stood in defense of our freedom in the years that followed. That day, and every year since, we are reminded that freedom is fragile, but courage is enduring.
Yet even as we lifted up those memories, sorrow touched us again. The horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk—who was to be in Woodland Park this very week—sent shock waves not only across the nation, but through our own community. And just yesterday, the devastating school shooting in Evergreen, CO tore at the very fabric of what we hold most dear: the safety of our children.
These moments test us. They bring us to our knees. They break our hearts. But they also call us to rise—to remember that in our darkest hours, we are meant to stand together. Now, more than ever, we must put the civil back into civility. We must choose respect over ridicule, kindness over cruelty, and community over division. When we do, we honor not just those we lost on 9/11, not just Charlie Kirk’s voice now silenced, not just the innocent victims in Evergreen—we honor one another.
As your Chamber, we believe deeply in being a catalyst, convener, and champion. That means creating space for business, yes—but more importantly, creating space for people. For connection. For compassion. For community.
My hope is that we all pause this week to look one another in the eye, to listen, to speak with grace, and to live in a way that reminds us: we are truly better together than divided.
May we never forget. May we always remember. May we choose, every day, to be the light that pushes back the darkness.
